Happy Friday everyone! I am so excited for this weekend. I turn 48 tomorrow and my sweetie is taking me to a wonderful coastal community not far from where we live in the San Francisco Bay Area, called Half Moon Bay. We are very lucky to be staying at a beautiful hotel (pictured above). While the rest of the Bay Area will see temperatures in the upper 70's and low 80's this weekend, Half Moon Bay will probably only hit a high in the upper 50's. We have a room with a nice fireplace looking out over the golf course. I can't wait to explore the little town and hopefully a few bookstores, have a delicious birthday dinner, and then snuggle up and drink some good wine while sitting by our fireplace on our outdoor balcony looking out over the golf course. I have such a wonderful sweetheart who always makes me feel so special on my birthday and after all of the health-related issues I have had lately this will be a much needed opportunity to relax and enjoy life a little.
As I was reflecting on another year gone by I realized that in two short years I won't be "Boarding in my Forties" anymore. I don't plan to change my blog name to "Boarding in my Fifties" so I guess I will just continue to pose as a much younger woman! Ha
Happy Weekend everyone! I hope you all have time to read a good book!

Sounds like a great way to spend your birthday! Have a fabulous time and I hope you find a few books to bring home! Happy birthday!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. It looks like it will be a wonderful weekend. My better half is in the Bay area right now and I am jealous. I love it out there.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! Enjoy your well-deserved weekend!
ReplyDeleteHappy happy birthday! This looks like a gorgeous spot in which to spend it. And I get the feeling it was the setting for a Ross Macdonald crime novel (although I could be mistaken). Very good literary antecedents!
ReplyDeleteWhen I worked at Tupperware HQ we had a couple incentive trips for our salesforce to Half Moon Bay. What a place! I'm so envious! Hope you have a wonderful birthday, and happy golfing (?), book shopping and relaxing.

ReplyDeleteBy the way, I've been to Half-Moon Bay, it's lovely, isn't it? what a lovely hotel, that certainly wasn't there in the 70's when we were there! I hope you had a lovely birthday retreat and found some lovely bookstores too.
